Our commitment

Automedon Technologies LLC wants everyone to be able to use automedon-tech.com, including people who use assistive technology. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we treat accessibility as part of the engineering of the Site rather than a feature added afterwards.

What we have done

The current version of the Site was built to the following standards:

  1. Text and interface elements meet the WCAG contrast minimum against their backgrounds, including small labels.
  2. Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone. Focus is visible, a skip link leads to the main content, and the scenario selector on the home page can be operated with the arrow keys.
  3. Interface controls carry the roles and states that screen readers need, including the mobile menu button and the scenario tabs. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology, and meaningful images have text alternatives.
  4. The rotating headline on the home page is announced once; the alternate versions are hidden from screen readers so they are not read repeatedly.
  5. Animation and auto-rotation stop when the operating system's reduce-motion setting is on.
  6. Pages are readable without JavaScript and reflow to narrow screens without horizontal scrolling.
  7. No emoji or icon fonts are used as the only way to convey meaning.

Known limitations

  1. Demonstration videos use the YouTube player, whose accessibility is controlled by Google. Videos do not yet have captions or transcripts; we intend to provide transcripts on this Site.
  2. Documents provided as PDF may not be fully accessible. Contact us and we will provide the content in an accessible format.
  3. The Site has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility specialist. We plan to complete an audit of the final design and to publish an Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT) for Automedon products as they reach release.

If you find something on the Site that does not work with your assistive technology, or you need content in another format, tell us at privacy@automedon-tech.com with the page address and a description of the problem. We aim to respond within five business days.
